A Few Of My Favorite Things: AUGUST

  1. BOOK: “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”

I can’t say enough good things about this book. “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”  came into my life at just he right time when I began my journey with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. This self-help book is a business fable that tells the story of the author, Robin Sharma’s personal experiences after leaving his career as a litigation lawyer at the age of 25 in search of personal growth and purpose. This book highlights everything I believe in- cultivating your thoughts, discovering your purpose, manifesting your destiny & putting your happiness first. An easy read, if you are looking to life’s secrets and powerful lessons, this is your book. Don’t forget to bust out your highlighter!

“The people who get on in life are those who dream big dreams and then take whatever risks are necessary to bring their vision to life. They face their fears directly, get into the game and live their days with courage. They break through their fear doors, no matter how scared they feel. It’s better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life.”

2. WINE: Sterling Reserve Wine

We all know I love me some wine. I could tell right when I poured my glass that I was going to love the wine based on the purple-rich color. The wine is smooth yet bold, with a fruit forward taste of blackberries and dark cherries.

3. Rodan + Fields Reverse Brightening Skin Regimen

If you haven’t caught on already, my new obsession is absolutely Rodan + Fields skin care line. It all started when I used their LashBoost and saw incredible results, so decided to invest in a new skin care routine. Two pregnancies mixed with the natural effects of aging & years of sun exposure, drinking, etc, my skin had lost its natural glow. My skin was dry and dull and I was desperate to get that youthful, natural glow back. After just 1 month my skin had changed entirely and looked like I was 5 years younger. I did a full blog post review with  before and after pictures here, check it out!

4. Cargo Jogger Pants

I had been seeing cargo pants were in style and I was so excited because Lord knows I love me some comfy clothes. I collaborated with Windsor stores and got these amazing, comfortable cargo pants. And yes, I will be getting them in every style and color.

5. Label Eighty Eight Initial Pendant

I do love Instagram for many reasons, one of them being that I get to work with smaller, talented companies- I especially LOVE working with women who own their own businesses, like Label Eighty Eight! They made me a beautiful initial pendant with my boys initials on it. To be honest, I absolutely just love all of their pieces. You can see all of their pieces on the Label Eighty Eight website.

6. Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer

I started using the Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer about 2 months back before Miami and am still super excited about it. Now, I don’t believe in waist trimmers. This is not going to magically change your waist shape. However it will make you SWEAT, and as you may or may not know, that means you are WERKIN! I wear this most days I workout, especially when I know I am doing HIIT, cardio &/or sauna.

7. Kodiak Cakes Protein Power Cakes

Not going to lie, as a family we eat Kodiak Cake Protein Pancakes damn near every day for breakfast. We make them extra protein power packed (recipe post coming soon) with chia seeds & protein powder added in. They are guilt free with 18 grams of protein and only 3 grams of sugar! They are also high in fiber. I like making them in bulk and saving a few in the fridge and eating one cold as a pre-workout snack. A must have for your pantry!

8. Cold Brew Maker

If you read my blog post on intermittent fasting, you know that coffee is what lasts me until 11am every day. Hot black coffee can get a little boring, especially during a hot summer day, so we invested in this Primula Cold Brew Maker. It is SO easy to make- literally you just put coffee grinds in the canister and fill it with water and let it soak overnight. It’s fun to try different flavor coffee grinds, as well for a little kick. Plus you can drink it over ice any time of the day! Cold brew coff is so fetch right now, guys.

9. Netflix “Notorious” Documentary

If you are lacking motivation lately, watch this doc. This Netflix original magically has footage of UFC Champion and media personality Connor McGregor before he was THE Connor McGregor we all know, love and hate. Seeing him as a young man, living broke in his apartment and seeing that his determination and self proclamation to life and his goals was there from day one is pretty fucking cool. Makes you want to go after what ever it is you want in life. A great pick me up for all of you who dream big.. it can happen to you!

10. Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castle Liquid Soap

Ty discovered this soap in the Pats locker room and it’s been in our showers ever since. Dr. Bronner’s Soap ingredients include all organic and vegan ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, hemp and jojoba oil. Our favorite and their most popular fragrance, peppermint is therapeutically used as a mild stimulant to tingle the body and clear the mind; increasing vitality and clarity. Other scents include lavender, tea tree, citrus and eucalyptus. They are huge bottles so it is a great investment, too. You’ve never felt as so fresh and so clean clean as when you use Dr. Bronner’s. Promise you that.
